U.S. Auntie arrived at silly o’clock this morning so off we go for breakfast, none of this unpacking/jet-lag rubbish.
We get to Hare and the Turtle just after they open for the day and find them already ramping up. We grab the last table and find out they have retired their two fish offerings, the Smokey Joe and the Salmon on Rye, both of which were excellent.
Little sad but still, two new tasty offerings to try!
Baloney – Mortadella, provolone, dijon and mayo, $12.00
Geezer – Ham, cheese, piccalilli, cos, mayo, $12.00
Pancakes – with maple syrup, grilled banana, mascarpone and candied nuts, $10. With a side of bacon, $5.00
Boston Cream Bun, $5.00
Side note, there were three trays of cinnamon rolls on the top of the counter when we arrived, by the time we left 40 ish minutes later, two were gone.
