Spent the night sleeping while flying to LA (good thing I’m not a pilot). Arriving in LA and navigating that insane airport to get to the bag claim etc, we were done and through and on the road to Atascadero, but with a couple of stops along the way.
First stop was a local Filipino place for breakfast, and can my uncle pick them! Everything was so damn good, like being in the Philippines! Almost as cheap too… so damn good…
Then we picked up snacks for the road from Seafood City Supermarket which is a Filipino supermarket chain. Finding a Jollibee and a Chow King as well as a couple of Filipino bakeries there too brought home the size of the Filipino community in Los Angeles, also why the food was so good, no one will settle for average.
